I think yours will be like, more the workhorse. I've got a hundred-watt CO2 laser and I haven't been able to do anything with metal at all - CO2 just doesn't do it. But fiber? Yeah, you'd be able to go through thicker stuff, more precision, and probably faster. And then the diode is more for the other cutting and engraving. So they're each doing their own thing.
